overheating vauxhall omega 2.0L

When traveling at any speed the temperature remains constant at about 90c but when in slow traffic around town or stationary the temperature rises rapidly and goes to the red line. It has boiled over once only. I suspect the fan is not working buit not sure if it is the electrical connection or if the motor is burnt out

You will have to test the circuit, starting with testing the fan motor itself by running power and ground directly to test.
