Brake drum

Sure. There's a legal maximum diameter. Normally they won't reach that limit unless one of the shoes was grinding metal-on-metal or if they were machined during a previous brake job. Most manufacturers are looking for ways to reduce weight so the drums don't have a lot of extra material for multiple machinings. A lot of new drums and rotors are so inexpensive, it makes more sense to just replace them than go through the time and expense of machining the old ones.
