How can I tell when my cars engine needs a tune up?

Not sure of your question? Usually with a tune-up, I change spark plugs and plug wires, distrubutor cap and rotor, where applicable. Change filters. Make sure no pressure on fuel system before taking any lines loose from filter.

Use a gage and check fuel pressure. Any trouble codes? Use a scanner that shows live engine data, see if everything appears normal. Different people have different ideas as far as what is involved in a tune-up.
