How do I check my vacurm switching solenoid (for my egr valve) to see if it is working properly. Thanks

Have checked egr valve,and have no vacurm leaks also.

take a test light and verify 12 volts to the hot side. probe the ground side with the test light and the solenoid should click and pas vacuum. if it does not, the solenoid is bad. if it does, then you have a control problem from the pcm.
