The car runs great, only 140,000 miles. I need a new Power Steering Pressure hose. The old one unscrewed from the pump and after hours of searching I found where it connects. The Rack and Pinion Gear Box. But. It's almost impossible, I think, to remove it. Car is in my driveway for 4 days. Help!

Hi,

There isn't much room as you already know. To do this, however, you need to remove the right front tire and the plastic inner fender shield to first disconnect the mounting bracket for the hose. Then, from the top, you need to remove the air filter inlet tube and a few other things. You will need what is called a crowfoot wrench. I attached a pic of one below. Basically, a 3/8" ratchet is used in conjunction with this to remove the hose.

I attached the directions below for you to review. Take a look through them and let me know if you have questions or if I can help in any way.

Take care,

Joe

Joe.

And 5 days later. The vehicle sits. It's just sitting there. I have no idea how to turn that connector. I dropped $18.00 on a crow's foot. Can't work the thing. It falls off. It won't turn. I'm not stupid. I can do plugs and oil changes. I once installed an Audio System into a 1978 Honda Civic that bumped so hard that it unloosened the freaking gas cap. But I'm at a loss. Instead of saving a little coin, I'm going into the hole. (Not like my kids need for or medicine) anyway. Thanks for trying Joe. It's appreciated. (Would you know where I can get a good deal on a couple of cases of Top Ramen and some Generic Aspirin?)
