Replaced wiper motor, but wipers park at 45 degree angle.

Our 1996 Saturn SC1 wiper motor started failing by coming on randomly, and sometimes it parked normally, sometimes it parked wherever it wanted.

Then it got worse. When we did turn it on, it would wipe a few times, then stop. Sometimes it would park, sometimes it would not.

So we bought a wiper motor at a salvage yard, it looked identical. After installing and making sure it was in the park position, it still acts up.

It cleans the entire windshield properly, but when you turn it off it parked partway up the windshield. We tried changing the position on the orbit of the cam 180 degrees, but it got worse. It now parks halfway up the windshield.

Any suggestions?

Remove the wiper arm.
Turn ignition on.
Turn wiper on.
Turn wiper off.
Allow wiper motor to stop first.
Turn ignition OFF.
Install wiper arm according to Parked position.
Retest.

Just to add to this one the motor you replaced sounded like it was bad.What year saturn did you the used motor from?Before you changed the motor was it in the park position?Also when you removed the cam arm from the wiper motor did you make sure the cam arm was put in the same position on the new motor while the wiper arms were in the park position?It sounds to me like the cam arm.isnt in the correct position.
