Rough Idle, Saab

96 Saab 900 SE Turbo :Car has rough idle when stopped. It has had new spark plugs, new di cassette, new timing value gasket, throttle body cleaned, new air filter. Doesn't stall but idles rough when stopped and sometimes idle drops and cooling fan comes on. Check engine light is on.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank-you

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on.

1ºclean iac(idling air control) and check eventualy intake leak if is not fixed check with a scanner,ISAT or TECH2

CHECK THE TYPE OF SPARK PLUGS U PUT IN ,NOTE NOT ALL TYPE SPARK PLUGS WORK WITH SAABS ,I HAVE SEEN SOME WEIRD SPARK PLUGS PLACED IN CARS THAT THE OWNERS SAY WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE PARTS STORE ,SO CHECK ,IF PLUGS R GOOD THEN U MAY HAVE A BAD FUEL INJECTOR ,GET YOUR CODES READ IT MAY JUST BE FOR A MISFIRE ON A CYLINDER & THAT CAN LEAD U TO WHAT REPAIRS NEEDED ,GOOD LUCK.
