Convertible top not working

I have A 1996 Saab 900s convertible, and when I try to lower the top I get nothing, my Sid displays close trunk lid when I try to operate the top

U MAY HAVE A TRUNK BOOT POSITION MICRO-SWITCH THAT HAVE GONE BAD ,U WILL NEED TO GET SYSTEM CHECK WITH A TECH2 THAT HAVE SOFTWARE TO MONITOR SWITCH POSITION WHILE OPERATING .
