1996 Pontiac Sunfire PCM

Car needs a computer. Got a used one out of a 1996 GMC Sonoma that has a 2.2L four speed transmission. Will this computer work even though the Sonoma has rear wheel drive and the sunfire has front? Some mechanics told me it would and some have said it would not.

Nope it wont you need the correct one and it has to program it to the vehicle

I agree with HMAC300 on this one, the PCM needs to be programmed to the car, you can get a preprogrammed unit by searching Google or Ebay. Here is the location of the PCM and how to change it out. You will need to transfer the EEPROM chip. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
