1996 Bonneville takes several attempts to start the first start of the day. Once started it will run for a few seconds then shut off. 2nd start does the same. 3rd start with the help of the gas pedal will keep it running. Once it's warmed up it runs fine with a minor rough idle.

So do you see any smoke when it start's?If so what color?Also do you have any code's?

What i would do is get a fuel pressure gauge and see if the fuel pressure is bleeding down causing your extending cranking condition.
