broken gauges

considering bying a 96 plymouth neon. Speedometer, odometer, and gas gauge do not work. Is this a caheap easy fix or sign of a bigger issue?

There's two possible fixes. One requires resoldering the pins in the connectors and one requires a new cluster. The instrument cluster is an entire computer module and as such is just as unreliable as all the other insane computers the engineers have come up with. The good news is you might be able to find a good one in a salvage yard.
