power door lock is not working

my driverside power door lock is not working. Any suggestions? oldsmobile cutlass 1996.

It could be the switch or the actuator or just broken linkage or latch. You will have to remove the door panel and test for power and ground arriving at the actuator.

one thing I forgot to mentioned was that when I used the passanger side power door switch, opens and locks both sides. that helps to solve my problem?

Yes, that is an important fact to leave out. That points more to the switch.
