When you remove the front and rear drive lines from the transfer case. With the car in neutral should the transfer spin freely both directions when you are turning the side where the front drive line bolts to? Also will a front differential with the same gear ratio but is vacuum asisted out of a 1996 blazer work in my oldsmobile bravada that is not vacuum assisted?

It should turn. As far as the other transfer case, you are going to end up with faults in the computer.
