Hello, My name is Sandra and I hope you will be able to help me. My 96 Olds Achieva has been heating up. I was told that it would be better to remove the thermostat because it might not be working. It heats up, and turns off all of sudden as well. It might be leaking water, but I don't see water on the floor. I have to put water everytime I go somewhere. What should I do, and what is the best way to remove the thermostat? Thank you very much for your time! Have a great day!!

No, removing the thermostat is a very BAD idea. The engine requires a thermostat to run properly. You need to pressure test the cooling system to find and repair any leaks.
