1996 Nissan Serena nissan serena won't start

I own a 1996 Nissan Serena it was running fine up until today it was previously filled with a tank of gas, I did use it for a good 8 hours and there was absolutely no signs of any problems, up until I tried to start the van it did start for a couple of seconds and then it just cut off it does try and turn over but that's all that happens.

So when you say it will not turn over, it is cranking on the key but will not fire and run?

Yes that's correct it is cranking on the key however it won't fire over for it to run.

OK, you need to check for fuel pressure, spark and injection pulse, I would look at the pump first as it may have died when it ran out of fuel, fuel keeps internal pumps cool and when they run dry they can fail easily.

i have found oil in on at least a couple of the spark plugs is this leading to a major problem.

No, probably rocker cover gasket and spark plug tube seals, easy job just remove the rocker cover and replace seals, check plugs and coils are ok as well.

by any chance would you know to get to the fuel pump?

hi again i found fuel pump and have replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter and a sensor to the carburetor and the fuel pump fuse and it still won't turn over and the starter and solenoid are fine do you have any other suggestions?

Do you have 12 at the main starter cable and 12 V at the solenoid with the key on crank?
