Main seal replacment

I have a 1996 nissan sentra and it is leaking oil at the front main bearing seal. Must I pull the engine to replace it

No, it is not required. This is a minor job with a book time of 1 hour.

FRONT COVER OIL SEAL
Removal & Installation

1. Remove accessory drive belts. Remove intake air duct. Remove right front wheel and splash shield, if necessary. Remove engine undercovers. Remove right engine side cover. Remove crankshaft pulley bolts. Remove crankshaft pulley.

2. Using screwdriver, pry out oil seal from front cover. Apply oil and install seal into front cover. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
