Hi guys I'm a natural blonde so I really do not understand what the power button is for and what the overdrive button is for. If I put either of these buttons on will it stop my car from guzzling petrol?

Power button on means the transmission would take a longer time to upshift, for better acceleration, this would increase the fuel consumption.

OD OFF light showing means you have prevented the last (overdrive ) gear from engaging and this would definitely increase the fuel consumption.
