1996 Mitsubishi Legnum Loosing power when accelerating

Ive just replaced the thermostat & housing due to corroded pipes, ive put everything back to the best of my memory, it runs & idles good but as soon as I shift into gear & apply acceleration it nearly cuts out? Any ideas on what the problem is & how to fix will be awesome, thanks.
