Ok i need help please. My FTO Mitsubishi 1996 gearbox is playing up. On cold starts the car starts ( bad idle) and when put into drive it goes and changes gear ok then suddenly jerks back as if your going into a higher gear and then it gets stuck on LIMP mode gear 3 with n light flashing. I checked the gear box oil and its black and dripping so its very fin when it should be red or dark red and thick. could this cause it ? when the cars hot and you switch it off and start it it revs a bit high and will not drive in D it just revs even in trip tronic. reverse works fine. i have to wait for the car to get cold. i recon its the oil no tto sure.
