1996 eclipse gs-t turbo

would a boost leak cause my 96 eclipse gs-t to have little to no throttle response and be hard to crank?

An induction leak after the turbo will whistle and have some performance issues depending on the size of the leak, if before the turbo some louder than normal induction noise and no power issues, neither will affect the starting of the engine.
