I'm experiancing rapit heat up. No coolant loss fan is working correctly I believe. How do I check the waterpump correctly?

Check the thermostat if okay check the radiator if its clogged-up for the water pump fill the radiator leave cap off -start it up and pinch off the upper hose for a few secs then let go-coolant flow inside the Rad should increase
