1996 Mazda 626 Removed Old Crankshaft Sensor Reason New One Something Orange Cap

i removed the old crankshaft sensor but for some reason the new one has something like a orange cap inside that the old one didnt have so the wire harness is not snapping together. does the cap need to be removed in order to snap in place??

Can you post a photo of it? It's probably a protective cap to keep dirt out until it is installed.
