Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Lexus ES 300 6 cylinder Front Wheel Drive Automatic 239,000 miles.

I have a 1996 Lexus ES 300. I have a major fuel leak coming from under the hood. The leak appears to be coming from a fuel rail near a cap on the end of it.

From what you are describing, it is the fuel pressure regulator, it needs to be replace, immediately. Please do not drive until it has been replaced. This can cause a serious fire.

At the base of the regulator is a nut, use a wrench about 22mm I think and loosen it and unscrew. Thread the new regulator on and tighten
