1996 Jeep Cherokee Press Brakes Odometer Reading Off Release Comes Back On Jump

when i press my brakes the odometer reading goes off and when i release brakes it comes back on. I have to jump start everytime i decide to drive my vehicle causing my battery to drain, my inside stays on after removing key from ignition. dont know if its a short or what. Alternator is charging when positive post is removed n its a new battery. NEED HELP.

check grounds first then check your starter relay in power dist center also check fuses. if you pull starter off auto parts can check to seeif that is good
