I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The instruments have a tendency to just quit. They will re-start when the windshield washer is activated. What's causing this?

It is a wire harness problem under your dash. Grounding to be exact the windshield washer re-connects the ground. This is a costly repair. Sorry then have had problem with this before. Chuck

Check all grounds under the dash. Make sure the wiring harness to the inst cluster is tight and clean.
