my ac in my car will not get cold I think it is the expansion valve I want to know how to change the expansion valve in the car how do I go about changing it how hard is it or do I need to take out the dash

I would be getting the pressures checked on the high and low side first, you need to be sure of the diagnoses first, doing at TX valve is a huge undertaking if you don't know what the exact problem is first.
