Will cv joints from a 1998 go into a 96 model excel? Do not know how to put this q. Well, you could have added a few details like which one(s). That's what the 200 character minimum is for, . . . to drag out the details. The easiest is to look up the parts on any of the web sites for auto parts suppliers. I use Rock Auto a lot but there's Carquest, Auto Zone, O'Reilley's, Advanced, and NAPA. If the same part number is listed for both applications, they're the same.

I guess I have to assume you're going to go through all the work of replacing something with a used part, otherwise the parts store people will get you the right part according to the year you're working on. I'm the master at getting the last ounce of life out of a used part before I throw it away, but I just put a new half shaft on my '88 Grand Caravan. It's too much work while sitting in a snow bank to change a used one again in a year or two. It was only 60 bucks with a lifetime warranty. Can't hardly buy a used shaft for that.
