location of idle air control valve

where is the location of the idle air control valve and would it be better to clean the valve or replace?

FOLLOW THE FRESH AIR/ AIR CLEANER HOSE---WHEN IT GETS TO THE METAL THROTTLE BODY---IT SHOULD BE RIGHT THERE CLOSE

The part shown is correct. For 1996 model it should be at rear upper portion of intake manifold near to firewall.

If the MIL is not indicating, cleaning it should solve erratic idling problems.
