1996 Honda Odyssey Exhaust Valve Spring bent

I was replacing the lower spark plug tube seals which required me to remove the rocker arm assembly on the F22b motor in my Honda Odyssey. I replaced the bag seals and was lining up the rocker arm assembly on top of the head. As I was hand tightening the mounting bolts for the rock arm assembly, on of the exhaust valves on the 2nd cylinder from the left of the motor, just bent. I tried nudging it a little to see if it would wiggle back into place. Nothing.

I then proceeded to just tighten things down to torque specifications. After reassembly was complete, I started the engine up, but now there is a constant loud knocking noise. I, left the motor running, disconnecting each spark plug wire one at a time to see if there was a change in sound for each spark plug wire removed. All sounded the same. I went to the store and bought some octane boost, still same loud knocking noise. I checked the spark plugs and I have the correct ones NGK brand (NGFR-11) I believe, can't remember.

I hope it is not one of the piston rods or something within the cylinders. I am all out of ideas. I do not want to do anything else, before I damage it anymore.

I have about 8 months left on Japan and I will be back to the states. What should I do?

Why would the spring just pop out of place like that?

Because you proably bumped it enough to pop the keeper off of the spring.
