Hi I own a 1996 Honda Civic 5 dr H/Back 1.6i LS (Manual). I have a lighting problem. When the O/S/R indicator flashes the two Reversing lights flash as well, but all other indicators on that side of the car are OK. The indicator flashes with reduced illuminosity. All of the other indicators on the N/S/F & N/S/R work OK without any problems.

I will re phrase the question to make it clearer. When I apply my right hand indicator the rear indicator flashes with reduced brightness. However the other indicators on that side of the vehicle flash as normal. At the same time my two reversing lights flash at the same time as the rear indicator which probably accounts for its reduced brightness.
The indicators on the left hand side of the vehicle all operate normally and none of my other lights are affected.
When I put my gear lever in to reverse the reversing lights light up as normal and the right hand rear indicator is not affected.

You have a ground circuit connection problem with the rear right taillight. Check the grounding circuit and remove the bulbs to check for corrosions and contaminations.

Hi thanks for the answer. I do not know where the grounding points are on the Honda and my repair manual shows me a confusing number of different circuits which I find pretty hard to understand.
Can you give me the location of these grounding points on the vehicle please?
Thanks

Grounding points for taillights are just near the taillights. Remove the trunk rear trims and you should see them, one on either side of vehicle.
