Higher than normal engine speed or possibly a vibration.

Can a bad torque converter make grinding sound for two second after releasing the brake pedal the car is in gear and front end is jacked up

No. The only thing that could make noise related to a torque converter is if the hub is chewed up and grinding on the bushing in the transmission's front pump. That won't go on for long before transmission fluid starts leaking badly. A cracked hub will usually cause a vibration too but that would be felt at higher speeds.
