1996 Gmc Suburban There Grinding Noise Coming Front End Burb Accelerate 2wd

There is a grinding noise coming from the front end of my burb when I accelerate and have it in 2wd. Grinding noise is not present when in 4 hi or 4 low. We have already disassembled the passenger side drive axle tube and found nothing wrong.

check wheel bearings and brakes on both sides. it may be rust on rotor causing that.
