When I try and start my 1996 Ford Windstar GL, the engine make a coughing/choking sound and never starts. The gas pedal while trying the start up stays dead to the world floored. What could it be? About how much should repairs cost?

IT could be a few things. Start by checking fuel pump pressure. There are directions and a video on our homepage under the DIY section.

Let me know what you find.
