Squeaking/Honking as engine comes to a stop

I was replacing the spark plugs and wires on my car today and had to remove the air intake to get to the plugs on the passenger side. When removing the intake I noticed that I had a cracked/dry rotten vacuum hose that came off the intake. I replaced the hose, the spark plugs, and wires; got everything put back together. Now when I turn on my car, there is an intermittent squeak/honk coming from the drivers side where this hose connects to a valve. When I turn the car off, the is a 3-4 second honk as the engine slows to a stop.

The pictures show the hose I replaced, and where it goes into the engine(the general area where the noise is coming from).

It looks like a PCV valve -remove the valve plug it and then start the vehicle and see what happens

Did that and it still makes the noise. Talked to my father about it and he thinks it may be the EGR valve that's causing the noise.
