Page 257 of the 1996 Ford Mustang owner's manual provides instructions for changing the engine coolant. It says that once I have drained the old coolant and am ready to refill with new coolant, I need to "Open the vent plug". What and where is the vent plug?

the drain plug is on the drivers side bottom of the radiator. remove the radiator cap for draining
