i have a 96 mustang 3.8 witj a manual transmission, with aa cable clutch. it will not go in any gear with motor running. but goes in all gears with moto turned off. i manually adjusted it, it worked fine for a few days. now has gone back to doing the same thing.

you have a failing clutch and most likely has to be replaced
