no brake lights cant shift

bake lioghts dont work cant shift into drive i have running lights and it does start

Check the brake light switch and replace if bad. It sends a signal to the park lock solenoid when you hit the brakes to release the shifter from park. The fact that you have no brake lights tells me that is where the problem is coming from. It is located at the top of the brake pedal (under dash).
