Hi,

Keep Alive Memory (KAM) (a memory integrated circuit chip) stores information about vehicle operating conditions in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), and then uses this information to compensate for component variability. KAM remains powered when the vehicle ignition key is Off so that this information is not lost.

Since this isn't something that can be simply replaced, let's try resetting it. To clear KAM: disconnect the negative side of the battery for a minimum of five minutes.

After KAM has been cleared, the vehicle may exhibit certain drivability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle 10 miles or more to allow the processor to relearn values for optimum drivability and performance.

Let me know if that helps. Also, please confirm it is code 15. I'm not showing that as an option. My manual jumps from 14 to 16.

Take care and let me know the results.

Joe
