300 ci 6 cyl started leaking oil last winter. The rear main is the source, but why did it start all of a sudden? Oil level was correct, nothing changed except it started leaking. Where is the crankcase vent on this engine? Could it being clogged be the reason for the leak?

STUFF SHELLING OUT IS SOMETIMES IS A SUDDEN OCCURRENCE!

UNFORTUNATELY THESE NEWER ENGINES USE A "ONE PIECE SEAL". SOMETHING "BIG" MUST COME OUT OF THE FRONT OR REAR TO SORTA THREAD IT ON. GOSH, I LOVE MY JEEP CJs!

I PREFER TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART. NOT "GET BY"

.I;M NOT "SOLD" YET (I'M TOUGH TO SELL)

THE CRANKCASE VENT IS THE PCV SYSTEM ON TOP OF THE VALVE COVER, ONE HOLE IS THE PCV, THE OTHER IS FRESH AIR

KEEP US POSTED ON PROGRESS, AT THIS POST
