will a 1998 ford explorer 2 wheel drive transmission and drive shaft fit a 1996 ford explorer 4 wheel drive

i have a transmission and drive shaft from a 1998 ford exdplorer 2 wheel drive and i need to know if it will fit into my 1996 4 wheel drive ford explorer

2WD and 4WD have different output shaft length. Unless you are converting to 2WD, if not it would not fit.
