Need to find out where the A/C Heater Blend Door Actuator Is Located

There are two style of blend doors one of them is right on top of the heater plenum. Here is a guide that will show you how to do it with diagrams below to show you on your car.

TEMPERATURE BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR
Removal
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument panel. See INSTRUMENT PANEL. Remove 4 temperature blend door actuator screws. Remove actuator from top of evaporator case.

1 18471 Heater Air Plenum Chamber
2 18A317 Vacuum Control Motor
3 18C433 Heater Outlet Floor Duct
4 389975-S2 Nuts
5 18A478 Windshield Defroster Door
6 - Windshield Defroster Door Crank Arm

It is located on the top of the HVAC housing and the dash has to be removed to access it.

I need to replace my blend door actuator on my 1996 Ford Crown Victoria but do not not know if I have manual or automatic air controls and they are sold as such, can you tell me how to distinguish between the 2? Thanks

He manual controls will have switches for the heat and another for the fan speed. The automatic system is more of a mini-computer that controls itself.
