Have a 96 ford contour, the only heat that comes out is the windsheild and it blows you out, none on floor or vents, how come, my legs get cold. Lol

I feel you are looking for a vacuum leak. Under the dash in the HVAC system are air flow vents which direct the direction of the air flow. They are actuated by vacuum. If there is a leak, it will go into a defalt mode which is the defroster.

Check under the dash for damaged or disconnected vacuum hoses. If you are lucky, you may hear a hissing sound with the engine running.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
