Hello, my name is David and I am currently driving a 96 Ford Contour, and now have an issue with it. I was driving it home one night and I have to go up quite a big hill, so I have to accelerate quite a bit to get up it. As I was giving it more gas it blew a hose off under the hood I am guessing it is a vacuum hose it was hooked up to the DPFE sensor. After that the car would not pic up speed for anything, and the transmission did not want to shift until about 5k RPM's. Got it home found the hose put it back on with a hose clamp. Took it for a test drive and the same thing happened about 100 feet down the road. I have no clue what to try and change. I don't know if it is the DPFE or not. I have also been told it could be the EGR valve. Any idea what this problem could be? Im trying to not have to buy both parts. Less money. Thanks so much for the help.

Yes it is the same hose that keeps blowing off. Almost like something is clogged maybe? I don't know what it could be though.

Look at the picture I attached. Look at #6. Is that where the hose is coming off? The DPFE (Delta Pressure Feedback EGR) measures pressure difference between upstream and downstream side of the EGR valve. If it is blowing the hose off, my first guess is the EGR is blocked and causing pressure to build up and blow the hose off. Remove the EGR and check for carbon build up or something is plugging the intake, egr, or the vacuum hose itself. I have also attached a picture of the part that I think is the problem.

Let me know what you find.
