Wheel bearing seized to the spindle, had slight damage on spindle, replace it? On some models the rotor and hub comes apart or does every model they come apart? Manuel locking hubs. Can I put new spindle nuts with washer in middle and still have room for hubs lock ring? The original spinder nut broke the clip that holds it in. My biggest issue right now is figuring out how to buy the proper parts, spindle, and what bearings. I think I need an inner and outer bearing. The outer I know where it sits but the mess I took apart is leaving a lot of questions. I am getting a new hub/rotor, new spindle, new bearing when I figure out which ones and redoing it. But, I do not want to miss any washers or pieces, to keep dirt out etc. I think the order went spindle nut outer bearing, hub, inner bearing, that goes tight to the spindle? Also, what is the name of the seal on the back side of the spindle to the axle? Thanks for any help.

The seal you are asking for is called a grease seal. It would be good if you can take some quick pictures so I can see what you are talking about.

Below are some diagrams to give us a better idea of what you are talking about.

If the axle threads that hold the hab onto the axle tube are damaged then the only way to fix it is a new differential.

Here are both auto and manual locking hubs. (Below)

Please let us know what happens.

#11 wheel retainer key? What is that? This is helpful I didn't know about the outer spindle rolling diaphragm seal, that's one part I was missing lol after videos, reading calling ford talking to people online I think I am good on the order and parts, one last problem is finding the spindle for my 4x4 96 f150, ford discontinued them and the ones Im finding are for abs mine is not, sorry no pictures truck is not with me, also I plan on getting rid of old spindle nut because the clips that holds it broke, and plan on putting the two nuts with the washer in the middle to replace it, anything I need to know about this?

Having a big issue finding useful info on what I need for a spindle, I know its 4x4, non abs, 96,331 gear ratio, but half of them are talking about dana 44 axles, still trying to find good info of what I need to get.

The inner wheel bearing unseated itself, fused to the spindle, where the spindle rolling seal should be.

Thanks

Yep you will need a new or used spindle. Some wrecking yards want to sell the entire differential. Not too much you need to know except how to set the bearing load which is a little tricky.

Here is a guide that will show you how to get the job done.
