how do you use the tool that removes the air conditioner lines when replacing the dash in a truck?

The assembly unbolts from the H-valve. You don't have to release the other ends. If there is still refrigerant in the system you need to have that recovered first. If you do not that refrigerant is going to release next to you where it can cause blindness and frostbite. Professionals wear gloves, safety glasses, and a face shield.
