I have a 1996 dodge ram 1500 pick up truck and about 6 months ago it started to idle very high when I reached about 55mph on the highway I assumed it was the transmission so I stayed off the highway but the other day it started idling high at about 25 MPH do you think the transmission has went up

i would first have the engine checked out to see if it is related to the fuel controls.

is the check engine light on??
