oil drain plug on 1996 dodge ram diesel is stripped, cant get the tool in to remove plug

There's enough of a lip that should allow you to grab it with a vise grip. Otherwise, weld a nut to it and use a wrench.

You can also grind two flats on it so you can use an open end wrench.
