I bought a brand new shifter cable assembly ( included both cables) for a manual transmission. I installed them in the same fashion that the old one was one the car. I changed the cables because the rubber end in the gear selector cable was missing and a salvage piece was not working. After installing the cable the end is still slipping off the post on the transmission. What is wrong with it now? Do I need dynamite?
