Sometimes the brake light comes on, but not consistently

Sometimes when I brake the brake light comes on, but it doesn't do it all the time. There's no grinding or any other noises that would indicate needing to get my brakes changed.

Are you talking about the brake lite on the dash? Make sure the fluid level is ok. Check for abs codes. Some makes and models, the E-brake can make that lite come on. Just for testing, unplug the e-brake, when problem is ongoing. Don't leave it unplugged.

Yes, the brake light on the dash. I can double check the fluid level. What is the e-brake?

wiggle the e brake pedal with your hand.does the emergency brake light come on?if so the light switch maybe bad.then push the pedal until the light comes on.release it the light should turn off.
