IT'S THE GREEN 1996 INTREPID

These lines are contained in an October 29, 2010 answer by David H. Regarding non functioning gauges in a 1996 Dodge Intrepid.

"Testing of the instrument panel and gauges requires using a scan tool to check circuits connected to the Body Control Module (BCM). See VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS article and BODY CONTROL COMPUTER article."

"See MODULE APPLICATIONS table under IDENTIFICATION in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER article."

I can't find these articles or table on the website. Can you tell me how to locate them? I'd like to read them since I'm having the same problem with an identical car.

Thank you,

John

You can get the trifold brochure from the dealer, either in the parts department or the office. They will list all the service manuals you can order directly from Chrysler. You might also try searching for Chrysler Tech Authority. That is their publication listing other literature and special tools.

The book they're referring to is one of a few dozen special diagnostic guides that cover a lot more detail than what's in the regular service manual. They're meant to be used with the DRB3 scan tool but there's a lot of other helpful information in them too.

I have a lot of them from the early '90s when they were used in training classes. The newer ones from the mid '90s on are the same color as that year's service manuals and are filed right along with them. If necessary, I can search for one here.
